Juleferien gik til Lake Tahoe til skisportsstedet Heavenly. Heavenly byen ligger på grænsen mellem Californien og Nevada, så hvis man er heldig kan man vinde hele ferien tilbage i Black Jack - det var vi ikke…;-).
Vi havde liftkort til 7 ud af de 9 dage, vi var i Heavenly, så på grund af det lidt dårlige skivejr valgte vi at holde 3. og 4. dagen skifri for at vente på lidt mere sne. Så vi var i stedet på en lille hike i skoven ved resortet.
Heldigvis kom der lidt mere sne, så resten af dagene fik vi stået på ski og udsigten over Lake Tahoe var helt fantastisk.
Juleaften så vi traditionen tro Disney show (dog på dvd), fik en lidt utraditionel julemenu på hotellets restaurant og åbnede julegaver. Juledag havde vi reserveret bord til julemiddagen på hotellet - så efter en god dag på ski (alle amerikanerne pakkede jo gaver ud) fik vi en helt traditionel amerikansk julemenu med stegt kalkun, stuffing, tranbær, yams og mashed potatoes.
